Blank and Editable SetUp Sheets

Basic SetUps

These are the basic set ups, that we have tried to make as universally good and easy to drive as possible. For ideas what to change, in order to improve THECar, please check the other setup sections below. The basic setups are dated, and basically the idea is, that the latest set up is the best, but you should try them all, and see what suits you best.

Team Driver SetUps

Team driver setups tend to be of the kind, that work everywhere, as long as your drivingstyle fits the set up. Don't run one, just because the person who posted the set up is fast with it. Driving styles differ, and what works for Miguel Matias, or Chad Bradley, may not work for you! Keep that in mind. But what these set ups are good for, regardless if they suit you or not, they show you what the fast guys run, and specially as far as shock pistons and oils, and diff oils, will give you an idea of what sort of set up has the potential to be fast.

SetUps for Loose Tracks

Good ideas to try on loose tracks:

- Move rear hubs forward for more rear traction.

- Flip the toe in plate upside down, and put a nr 1 insert, hole down in the antisquat plate.

- Try 5-10-2 diff oils.

- Use hole nr:6 on the rear hub, long low, for more rear traction.

- Increase rear toe in for more rear traction.

- Use the medium or short ackermann plate for more steering.

- Set the upper links to the middle row on the towers, this will make THECar more responsive, and faster.

- Move the weight back, if you want the rear to have more traction, and THECar to be more stable.

SetUps for Astroturf Tracks

SetUps for High Grip Tracks

Good ideas to try on high grip tracks:

- Long links, long on tower, medium or long on hubs, will calm THECar down.

- Raise the front arm, with nr 1 insert hole up on F-F arm holder, and 0 insert on F-R arm holder. This will make the front end less twitchy and less likely to make THECar flip over.

- Move the rear hub back, for more consistent handling on and off power.

- Less rear toe-in will free THECar up, and make it slide instead of hooking and being inconsistent.

- Moving the shocks out on the arms on the front will make THECar more stable.

- Moving the shocks out on the rear arms will increase stability and cornerspeed, but will make it worse in bumps.

- Less downtravel will reduce the tendency to tractionroll.

- Go to 2.5 swaybars all round.

SetUps for Smooth Tracks

Good ideas to try on smooth tracks:

- Try 10 hole conical pistons, flat side down, 4 x 1.2mm holes, 6 x 1mm holes, 450 - 600 oil front and rear, depending on temperature.

SetUps for Bumpy Tracks

- Stock set up should be good for bumpy tracks.

Aggressive SetUps

Good ideas to try to make THECar responsive, and aggressive:

- Shorter upper links will make THECar more responsive.

- Shorter Ackermann plate for more responsive steering.

- Stand the shocks up, THECar will jump better and be more responsive.

Stable SetUps

Good ideas to try to make THECar stable, and calm:

- Stock set ups should be good starting points.

- Flip the toe in plate upside down, and put a nr 1 insert, hole down in the antisquat plate.

- Try 5-10-2 diff oils.

- Drill hole num ber 6 in the rear hub, and use it.

- Move the engine and centre diff back, one hole at a time.

- Add ballast weights.
