as i picked up in alot of the litrature on the net there is a distinctive difference in the front and rear drive shafts. there is a flat section on the ball side and i believe this is the shaft intended for the front(please correct me if wrong)
am i correct in saying the front and rear drive shafts are of different lengths as i have noticed with alot of droop setting the 3mm pins are on the edge and actually stick out of the cups on the front drive. i was looking to see if the rear are slightly longer would they work in this location on the front. i was looking for a way of ensuring the shaft does not pop out under extreme riding.
i have also witnessed the front hingepins break in the middle on my friends The Cari noticed whilst building a The Car the holes in the front A arms are not ligned up 100% and the pin actually bends ever so slightly in order to make it through the A arm. I have reamed the holes out to try and align the pin and ensure it moves freely as i was wondering if this addred stress to the already hard metal could cause the premature break of the hinge pins.
please advise any advice you can.
regards
